EuroSpec Is Now an Official Link ECU Reseller in Australia
Big news for anyone running — or planning — a standalone engine management setup: EuroSpec is now an official Link ECU reseller in Australia. That means the Link Engine Management range, from plug-in ECUs to widebands, gauges and power distribution, is now available through us, backed by Link’s limited lifetime warranty and supplied quickly from Link’s Australian warehouse.

Who is Link Engine Management?
Link is a New Zealand company that has been building standalone ECUs in Christchurch for over 30 years. Their gear runs everything from grassroots drift cars to professional motorsport programs worldwide. The current G4X and G5 platforms cover the full spread: plug-in ECUs that install in the factory computer’s place, wire-in units for swaps and full custom builds, and the supporting hardware — wideband controllers, dashes, keypads and power distribution — to run a serious car properly.
Two things stand out about Link against the rest of the standalone market:
- Limited lifetime warranty. Every Link product carries it. Nobody else in this space backs their hardware that far.
- Local supply. Link warehouses in Australia, so lead times are short — no waiting on a box from Europe or the US.
What’s available through EuroSpec now
The first wave of the Link range is live on the site, with more being added:
- Link G4X BMWLink E36X plug-in ECU — $2,194.50
- Link CAN Lambda kit (digital wideband) — $544.50
- Link CAN Gauge OLED 52mm — $588.50
- Link 3-port boost control solenoid
- Link ethanol content sensor
- Link XS expansion loom (plug-in I/O)
Beyond what’s listed, we can supply the wider Link catalogue to order — G4X and G5 wire-in ECUs, plug-ins for Nissan, Toyota, Subaru and Honda platforms, the Razor PDM, CAN keypads and dash displays. If you don’t see the unit your build needs, get in touch and we’ll quote it.
The one that matters for BMW people: BMWLink E36X
Link makes exactly one true plug-in ECU for BMW, and it’s a good one. The G4X BMWLink E36X fits OBD1 E36s — M50, M52, S50 and S52 — and mounts inside the factory ECU case, running the standard engine loom. No cutting, no custom harness, and the car can go back to stock.
What you get over the 30-year-old factory computer: full standalone control of fuel and ignition, boost control for turbo conversions, launch control, flat shift, CAN wideband integration and proper high-speed logging through Link’s PC Link software. For an E36 track or drift build it’s the cleanest engine management install available.
One honest note: a standalone ECU is not a bolt-on. The E36X ships with a base configuration, but it needs to be tuned for your engine — budget for dyno time with a tuner who knows Link gear. And like all standalone ECUs, it’s intended for motorsport and off-road use.
Hardware that works on any build
Not everything in the range needs a tune. The CAN Lambda kit is a digital wideband that talks straight over CAN — no analog signal drift, no ground-offset error, which is exactly the failure mode that makes cheap widebands lie to you. Pair it with the 52mm OLED CAN gauge for clean, configurable in-cabin data. The 3-port boost solenoid and ethanol content sensor are similarly universal — standard fitment on serious turbo and flex-fuel builds regardless of which ECU runs the car.
Where EuroSpec fits
Our lane has always been European performance — B58, B48, N54/N55 and the S-engines — and that doesn’t change. Link slots in where the factory computer bows out: E36 and E46 track and drift builds, engine swaps, and race-car electronics. If you’re already running our E36 KW coilovers or planning a swap, we can now supply the engine management side of the build too. Browse the full range on the Link ECU brand page.
FAQ
Does Link make a plug-in ECU for BMW?
One — the G4X BMWLink E36X, which fits OBD1 E36s (M50, M52, S50, S52) inside the factory ECU case. There’s no Link plug-in for E46 or later; those cars run a G4X wire-in ECU with an adapter or custom harness, which we can supply and spec with you.
Do I need a dyno tune with a Link ECU?
Yes. A standalone ECU replaces the factory calibration entirely, so it must be tuned for your engine by a competent tuner. The accessories — CAN Lambda, gauges, sensors — need no tune and work out of the box.
What warranty do Link ECU products carry?
A limited lifetime warranty on all products, honoured through Link’s global support network. It applies to the original purchaser.
Can EuroSpec supply Link ECUs for non-BMW cars?
Yes. We can order the full Link range, including plug-in ECUs for Nissan, Toyota, Subaru and Honda platforms and wire-in units for any swap — LS, 2JZ, K-series, whatever the build calls for. Contact us with your engine and chassis and we’ll spec it.
